You guys probably already knew of this, but significant performance boosts can be gotten by enabling or disabling certain options in the chrome://flags section. It even works on Android!
Of particular note are the "Override software rendering list," "GPU Accelerated SVG filters," "Disable WebGL," "Enable fast tab/window close," and "Enable Download Resumption [not performance related but darned useful]."
On my system I noticed a, er, noticeable performance increase. This is the laptop we're talking about here.
