I used to use Nero SoundTrax from Nero 6 on XP as my audio mixer and Nero Wave Editor as well. But the move to Windows 7 has me stumped. Nero 6 (well SoundTrax and Wave Editor) won't run on Windows 7, and frankly, the idea od shelling out $100 to "upgrade" to the bloatware that is Nero 9 doesn't appeal. So what I'm looking for is a replacement for SoundTrax and Wave Editor that will run on Vista/7. Can anybody recommend something.

Oh, my needs are simple--create audio CD's, normalising, maybe some cropping and conversion--basically why I stuck with ST6 so long.

Audacity?

I like the Nero Wave Editor interface a little bit better, myself; it's what I use when I teach people to record LPs to CDs, but Audacity is often suggested in guides for doing the same thing.
