Vista Capable Lawsuit decertified

It appears that the US Federal District Court has handed Microsoft a massive win by decertifying the previous class-action lawsuit. Rather than having potentially millions of plaintifs, Microsoft has to only deal with the original six plaintifs. Now everyone that was harmed by Microsoft's "Vista Capable" policy has to sue individually to get satisfaction. The problem, of course, is that it is hard to justify the cost of the lawsuit -- The point of class action status.

I completely disagree. Most class action lawsuits are designed to make plaintiff lawyers filthy rich...and they succeed quite well in that regard. Plaintiffs in the settlements, mostly get token amounts, really worthless. Most of the attorneys in this country, especially frivolous lawsuit, class-action attorneys, should be rounded up and sent hurling into the sun, IMHO.

In the M$ anti-trust case, the IP specialty law firm, the founding member who was lead attorney on the case, tried to obtain from the court, settlement attorney fees of $3,000+/hour...forget, something like 10 or 30 million. He also tried to bill for his administrative assistant (specialized, glorified secretary) amongst many other outrageous fees, (filing/photocoping, etc) work @ $1,000+/hour. Completely obscene!!! CEO perks aren't the only corporate bad guys.
