You don't really have any choice at this point. A few more years and nearly everyone will have forgotten about the usefulness of a 4:3 screen at all. At least the UI designers are getting a clue and putting the menus on the sides instead of the top.

I had an apartment where we kept the TV in the (unused) fireplace. If you had a CRT, it was a great place to stick it. Edit: Besides, you could always just loop this in it.

I will indeed be putting a heat pump system in, as soon as I get a kitchen going. We're out of the winter, so no heating will be needed until October at the earliest.

I'm perfectly happy with it being 74 in the summer and 68 in the winter. The ROI is only there if energy costs increase significantly (which I believe they will). Even if it doesn't pan out financially, I feel better running a more efficient system.

Interesting design. Seems the botched it by making it just too small for 120mm fans in a normal configuration. It wouldn't have taken much. Also, SPCR screwed up by taking a case designed for upward convective flow and not using a GPU or CPU cooler that was conducive to that design.

There are a number of tools out there that re-create the RAM disk and re-populate it with files from a folder on another disk. Someone at one point built a PCI card that held some DIMMs and a battery. IIRC, their second version was even bootable.
