(Sometimes I feel like I'm the one who needs the most support around here.) Anyway, I confess that my wife and I have iPhones.

Recently, I started having issues connecting Firefox on my Ubuntu PCs to the iPhone web site, iCloud.com. When I try to log on, I get the message "Failed to verify your identity. Try again." Then I tried on my wife's Ubuntu laptop - same problem, but I could log on using Chrome.

And on Windows, I can connect Firefox OK. I ended up installing Chrome on my main PC just to work around this problem.

But what is behind this issue? I tried contacting Apple support, with no luck. And I googled about Linux/Firefox/iCloud problems, and got nothing, except others having the same trouble - I added myself to the list. I guess it's easy for those three technologies to point fingers at each other.

I am omnipresent
I'm not sure how it is right now, but for a very long time there was no supported browser addon for keychain sync to Firefox, which makes me think it's not exactly an Apple priority. And the minute you mention Linux to most commercial software vendors, you're probably SOL.

Have you looked at KDE Connect? It runs on EVERYTHING and might go a long way to solve your problems.

What really ticks me off is that it used to work. Here's a (resized) iPhone photo I downloaded from iCloud.com on August 11, just 16 days ago:
