A couple good deals on things I noticed things from today's Newegg email:

1. 4-bay eSATA enclosure for $90. (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16816132029&nm_mc=EMC-IGNEFL112111&cm_mmc=EMC-IGNEFL112111-_-EMC-112111-Index-_-ServerRAIDSystems-_-16132029-L022C)

2. S*ny DLNA client. Looks just like the LG Smart TV guy that I like. $50. (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882105511&nm_mc=EMC-IGNEFL112111&cm_mmc=EMC-IGNEFL112111-_-EMC-112111-Index-_-SetTopBoxes-_-82105511-L01C)

Hmmm. Reviews indicate they die frequently.

I think it needs white polka-dots to finish the look. That way he can be properly camouflaged in it's natural environment.

I suppose it would qualify as a stupid stocking stuffer, but since I just had the experience of having to take my gloves off to answer my phone, I'd like to mention that pairs of capacitive gloves are available on Ebay for $3.29 per pair. (http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p4012.m570.l1312&_nkw=capacitive+glove&_sacat=See-All-Categories)

Nice. I actually have the pair from Specialized for bicycles (http://www.specialized.com/us/en/bc/SBCEqProduct.jsp?spid=64310) (my GPS watch is touch-screen).

An iPhone needs special gloves to operate? That's crazy. What about bare fingers?

All capacitive (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capacitive_sensing) touchscreens need contact with something that conducts electricity.

Photoshop CS5 Extended Teacher edition. $150 from Amazon. Today only. (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003D8XEJA?m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&tag=gmgamzn-20) For the times when you'd rather wait an entire month to get a copy of Photoshop than take a half hour to pirate it, I guess.

Wasn't it you who was bitching about capacitive-touch phones long ago just to add more hate to an iPhone? Now you have a capacitive touch phone?

No one makes resistive touch screen phones any more. It pisses me off.

I'm glad they don't make them any longer...not because I want it to piss you off, I just think they're a horrible user experience compared to capacitive.

People do need to use their phones in cold weather. It's a real issue and the right answer isn't special gloves, either. That's just BS.

IIRC, some of the really cheap ZTE Android phones still use resistive touch screens... eg the ZTE Racer. However most of these cheaper phones are stuck with Android 2.1/2.2 with no updates in sight... and I don't know if CM7 supports them.

Just remove the normal glove if the phone must absolutely be used. I live and use my phone in cold weather. Where's Cougtek when you need him to tell you to not be a sally just because of some cold weather and needing to use a phone.
