So says the New York Times (http://www.nytimes.com/2007/08/25/business/worldbusiness/25drive.html?_r=2&hp=&oref=slogin&pagewanted=print&oref=slogin).

I didn't see in that article where the company looking to buy Seagate was Lenovo. They just referenced the Lenovo buyout of IBM's notebook business. Also according to the article Seagate basically said we are not for sale. Only a hostile type takeover would be possible. I'm not sure seagate is the only target though.

I doubt that Lenovo would be a player at this time: they are still digesting the IBM buy, which stretched their resources more than sufficiently.

Seagate 7200.10 Firmware "AAK" significantly worse than other versions. (http://www.fluffles.net/articles/seagate-AAK-firmware)
Of course, 4 of mine are AAK with one AAE and one AAD. Doesn't really matter as I'm saturating the bus with the number of drives I have now.
