Since it is a large (bootable size) and at a relatively reasonable price for a SSD, I thought that there might be people here interested in the following product:
NewEgg has SAMSUNG 1.8" PATA 32GB Solid State Disk(SSD) Flash Disk Model MCAQE32G5APP (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820147015) for $553.99 shipped.

Thanks for the heads-up Mark. I'll be all over this once I scrape together enough cash for a few of them.
Any word on when an SATA version could be available?

Thanks for letting us know.
Is this different than the one at eWiz (http://www.ewiz.com/detail.php?p=SSD32G-1.8&c=fr&pid=142b931e52b6cdee58e6d8f05ad2d966a9a7628509d7cd 270ed290556bf291fc) for $480?

Yes, they are different: Look at the specifications! Newegg is a 44pin IDE connector and the Ewiz is using a 50 pin IDE

Has anyone bought one of these Samsung SSD drives yet? I am getting tempted. It would be nice to pay less than $400 though.

I'm waiting for the second generation and an SATA interface to come out.

Probably a smart move. 44 pin converter would just muck up the whole experience.

My concern is that a 44-pin converter and a PATA-SATA converter combined might not play well.
