Probably costs thousands-note target market is 'industrial', and uses 8Gb 50nm NAND tech of last year, but still, it's 256GB and relatively fast.

PQI ramps up 256GB solid-state notebook drive (http://www.electronista.com/articles/07/05/29/pqi.256gb.solid.state/)

The company claims that the notebook is faster than most magnetic hard drives; while transfer rates peak at 60MB per second, the lack of rotation can speed up the overall responsiveness of most PCs. It also draws out the longevity of the drive to about 10 years and lowers power use, PQI adds.

If they can manage 128GB for under $2k, I'm sure they'll have a market.

I really wish someone would start selling a SSD in the 30-40GB range for less than $300. I would buy one immediately if it was fast and reliable. 60MB/s seems pretty fast for flash memory, considering what the response times are.
