Anyone got an Athlon XP sitting around collecting dust they'd be willing to get rid of for a few bucks?
I know I could probably get something off ebay, but I'd rather not deal with it.

I've got a bunch of Barton 2500+'s. PM me, if you want one.

While I'm waiting for a reply...
Should I be possibly looking for a mobile chip since this is for my server and the reduced heat and power draw wouldn't be a bad thing?

If you are, good luck finding one. They aren't easy to come by.

I used to run one of those chips. Unfortunatly, it was a .13um part; later non-mobile versions @ .09um ran cooler/faster and were cheaper.

Are you sure about that? According to Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Athlon) there were no .09um Athlon parts.

:crap: Not really, that was a long time ago. I just remember buying a mobile chip, then being mad that the next gen was that cool anyway.

It might have been a .18um mobile part then...
Anyhow, I got a Barton 2500+ coming from P5-133XL, and a mobile Barton 2500+ coming from an ebay seller. One will go in my server, the other in my HTPC. Both may be mercilessly overclocked... :D
Thanks for the help guys.

Anything cheap! My father-in-laws CPU died and I need to get him up and running. :-(
