I'm bummed...they don't offer SMS notification support for verizon, but they have ever other carrier... That would be nice to have because I keep my cell phone with me all the time. Once the integrate the calendar with gmail, it'll be a nice addition.

Google has kind of integrated the calendar with Gmail now. There is a link to it in the upper left and you add event info to any messages you are sending.

Is there a way to have the Calendar generate an email as a reminder for an event? I don't keep the calendar open at all times so I won't get a reminder if an event is coming up in 10 minutes or whatever.

I haven't seen the e-mail come through yet, but I bet you could setup a filter to forward to your phone (in fact, I might just try that). Or, just let the e-mail come through if that's all you need. To get to the settings, open the calendar first and in the upper right corner is the "settings" link. Open that and you'll find a tab for notifications. In there you will find a bunch of options related to the notification options for an event. Let me know if you can't find it. I'm off to test the e-mail reminders...

I just checked it...the e-mail was sent to my inbox from "calendar-notification@google.com". I'm going to try forwarding it and see what happens...
