Just posting this here so everyone can see what some of our slime-ball congressmen are up to. I get the feeling that MS is somehow involved with this too. Do what you can to stop this nonsense.

That's the result of lobbying on cluelest but powerful persons. Why spend millions on develpment and court when you can get the same result by greasing an ignorant and easy to bribe senator? You gotta love our "democratic" system.

It's funny, though. As per the article on slashdot yesterday, the preponderence of copies out in the world are the lowest-tech forms (camera pointed at movie screen, microphone to speaker), and sold to people who just don't care about the distinction.
Still, I agree that the whole notion is positively moronic.
