They didn't really mention cost of living as a factor in the scale (unless I missed it). I'd like to know what the average cost of realestate is in all those areas along with gas prices etc. Those play an equally important role IMHO. Otherwise it sounded like things were picking up a bit, but I won't call victory just yet.

Yes, no COLA/regional adjustment factor. Also no breakdown was provided on types of IT work (desk-side support tech, operations, programmers, analysts, network engineers, etc.) to lend substance/justification to the salaries; IOW maybe Wash has a disproportionate number of high-end IT jobs compares to Cali and other areas.
Chicagoland has something like 400K+ IT workers; I'd like to know where I fit. Too bad the survey results aren't free.
