I just saw that these people (http://www.einsteinpc.com/store/store-detailspec.asp?goodsid=281350) are offering a 160GB 540X for $61. No word on who these people are, whether the drives are refurbished or stolen or what, but for $61, it might be worth a shot. ;)

So, did you order one? It is mighty tempting.

I tried to find Einstein Computers on Reseller Ratings, but they aren't even listed. Seems kinda shady....

Has anyone ordered from them before? Has anyone even heard of them before?

Where did you find out about this Merc?

Damn that site is slow like a sloth. Quickly, must get two at least.....

It took me about 40 minutes to get the order to go through. Slowest site on the planet I think. I ordered 3 of them, I will probably end up selling 2 of them on eBay if the order actually goes through and einsteinpc doesn't just take my money.

The certificate only began on the 10th September 2002, I hope that's a renewal. I would have ordered 10 of them but the olde Visa wasn't up to the challenge. Oh well we shall see on Monday :)

Geez, I hope they don't steal my money.

eh...I guess I can always have my bank refuse the charge is something goes afoul.

They aren't selling them at that price any more. I clicked on the link and was greeted by a message that it was out-dated. I then searched their inventory and the drives are now $277

Hmm I logged on to check my order status and there is some crap about maybe an order deletion. Tim, do you get the same?

Something like that...

ADODB.Field error '80020009'

Either BOF or EOF is True, or the current record has been deleted. Requested operation requires a current record.

/store/store-order.asp, line 0

Maybe their online store is just broken.

I only bought one drive, but since I haven't been able to get their page to load, I'm basically ready to write this whole thing off. Too bad. :(

OK site is up and running at a much faster pace then yesterday.

Unfortunately when I input my order num and zip, I get:

Order Status: Deleted

Bastards! The least they could do is send a frigging email. I'm checking my online statement to see if they charged my card. It takes a day or two for a transaction to appear tho.

Nice try guys...I guess some of the bigger, more popular retailers will actually honor price glitches like that...This little podunk outfit likely doesn't have the wherewithal (or balls) to do so. I hope you don't get stung on your credit cards.

I can't even log into my account anymore. Nor can I even browse their online catalog. That site needs some serious work.

Oh well, as long as they didn't charge me I'm not too upset.
