I will be 28 on the anniversary of my birth. Don't forget to celebrate.
My birthday coincides several notable events in history.
On This Day:
In 1844, the Young Men's Christian Association was founded in London.
In 1918, the World War One Battle of Belleau Wood, which resulted in a US victory over the Germans, began in France.
In 1925, Walter Percy Chrysler founded the Chrysler Corporation.
In 1933, the first drive-in movie theater opened, in Camden, New Jersey.
In 1934, the Securities and Exchange Commission was established.
In 1942, Japanese forces retreated in the World War Two Battle of Midway.
In 1944, Operation Overlord was put into action.
In 1966, black activist James Meredith was shot and wounded as he walked along a Mississippi highway to encourage black voter registration.
In 1978, California voters overwhelmingly approved Proposition 13, a primary ballot initiative calling for major cuts in property taxes.
In 1982, Israeli forces invaded Lebanon to drive Palestine Liberation Organization fighters out of the country. (The Israelis withdrew in June 1985.)
In 1985, authorities in Brazil exhumed a body later identified as the remains of Dr. Josef Mengele, the notorious "Angel of Death" of the Nazi Holocaust.

P.S. The web site (http://www.boston.com/history/date/060600.htm) I got most of this information from had this as
Thought for Today:
"All the historical books which contain no lies are extremely tedious."

Cat age is measured by 20 years for the 1st year and then a birthday every 2 months.

No, but 9am isn't rare. As long as I'm in front of my computer for 9h30am when the stock market opens, I'm ok.
I've never been a morning man, but I had to wake up very early (4h30am) for several years. Now that I have a lot more freedom, I can finally allow my body to rest all the hours it needs :-)

Born on Feb 22, same day as George Washington.

Oh, I shouldn't worry guys, Tea can look after herself. In case of real need, she can just morph back into me!
And don't you worry, DB. There are those who think that there is something untoward going on between you and Tea, but you and I know that it's just a beautiful friendship. Tea kind of likes having a friend who is the same height as she is. Well, near enough, anyway. I mean, under the table is under the table. She doesn't seem to mind that she's there because she's too short to see over the bar and you're there because, well, just because you like it there. Or something.
PS: she wants to know why she felt "a bit funny" the other day, after that third glass of gin and tonic you so kindly bought her. Should I tell?
DrunkenBastard
02-04-2002, 06:53 AM
Depends on where she "felt funny" :mrgrn:
I'll explain it to her in my own special way ;)

Well, DB started counting over again after leaving prison. Sort of a years of freedom. And I can't believe he so blatently defies Tea's restaining order. I would recommend Tea looking in getting some protection but I'm afraid the Aussie wouldn't understand I meant the bang bang type.

I don't like taking these big leaps forward one day every year. I've decided to age more incrementally.

Old enough to know not to answer that question.
Old enough not to enjoy bithday parties
Young enough not to be considered a wise old man.
I consider you a wise old man, Mark. Anyone who has to take their shoes off to work out how old they are is ancient.
